Our Syrahs strive for a huge "mouth" and to give consistently smooth finish on the back palate. This syrah is the result of good vineyard practices, the right barrels and talented winemakers. This wine is excellent with grilled meats, wild game and stands up well with spicy foods.
"Big, bold and beautiful" says it all. These Central Valley grapes were allowed to mature to their peak, then carefully tended in their special French oak barrels until ready to give the very best wine experience. It is packaged in extra heavy glass to insure its quality for many years to come. The winemaker uses this wine in many dishes but the favorites are Osso Buco and Oxtail Stew.
Alicante Bouschet, a cross between Grenache and Petite Alicante, and is the only grape that releases red juice. Silkwood's new release is very smooth on the palate without the tannic bite to the finish. It is finished in special oak for 49 months and packaged in oversized bottles with thick glass for protection from light and high temperatures. An intriguing wine to be enjoyed with all variety of beef, poultry, pork or game.
